# Bundle promotion: bundle discounts > Give a bundle discount when shoppers buy products together, and show a bundle card they add in one click on the product page. Source: https://backtrackhq.com/docs/promotions/bundle/ (Screenshot: A bundle card on a product page with the bundle price and an Add bundle to cart button) A bundle gives a bundle discount when shoppers buy items from each group together, and shows a "Frequently bought together" card on the product page. ## At a glance | | | | --- | --- | | **Gallery group** | Promotions with an upsell offer | | **Discount** | A percentage off a set of items. Default: two groups, one item each, 15% off. The block shows without it. | ## Before you start - Decide which products go in each group. Pick products, not a tag: storefront widgets cannot show a product tag. - Turn on the app embed once. For what works without it, see [the app embed table](https://backtrackhq.com/docs/widgets/app-embed/#what-works-without-the-app-embed). ## Set it up in the app 1. **Open Promotions, click Create promotion, then click Choose on the Bundle card.** It is under **Promotions with an upsell offer**. The card says "Save when buying items together. Shows a bundle builder." (Screenshot: The promotion gallery with the Bundle card and its Choose button) 2. **Pick the products for each group in the Discount section.** The page starts with **Group A** and **Group B**, one item each, at 15% off. A banner says "Pick the products for this promotion." Use **Group items** to pick products for each group. Until you pick, **Make it live** won't save. It says "Pick the products under Discount first." (Screenshot: The Discount section of a bundle) 3. **Check the Storefront widgets section.** **Show storefront widgets** is on. 4. **Write the upsell message.** **Add an upsell offer** is on. Edit the **Message**. The offer shows on the **Product page** as the bundle card. (Screenshot: The Storefront widgets and Upsell offer sections of a bundle promotion) 5. **Set the dates in Schedule and status, then click Make it live.** Or click **Save as draft** to finish later. (Screenshot: The Schedule and status section with the Make it live button) ## Add it to your theme **What's next** shows on the promotion page after you click **Make it live**, not after **Save as draft**. It goes away when you dismiss it or leave the page. No What's next panel? Open **Promotions**. In the row's **Storefront widgets** column, click **Add block**. It shows when the block isn't in your theme yet. 1. **Under What's next, click Open theme editor.** **Add the widget to your theme** names the **AndOr Offer picker** block. Your theme editor opens on a product page with the block added at the bottom of the section. 2. **Drag the block under the Add to cart button, then click Save.** (Screenshot: The theme editor with the AndOr Offer picker block under the Add to cart button) The block's only setting is its button color. The products and the message come from the app. See [Bundle card](https://backtrackhq.com/docs/widgets/bundle/#add-the-block). > **Note:** The **AndOr Offer picker** shows nothing without an upsell > offer. With the offer off, What's next says "Add an upsell offer to > show the Offer picker." ## Check it on your store 1. **Under What's next, click View on store.** It opens a product from the bundle in a new tab. The bundle card shows the other items and the bundle price. 2. **Click Add bundle to cart on the card, then go to checkout.** Check the bundle discount at checkout. **Not showing?** - The block is not on the product template, or you did not click **Save**. - The upsell offer is paused, or **Product page** is not in **Where it shows**. - This product is not in any group, or another group has no product the shopper can buy. - The **Bundle discount** is a fixed amount or 100%. Storefront widgets need a percentage off, below 100%. See [Widgets not showing](https://backtrackhq.com/docs/help/widgets-not-showing/) and [What the bundle card needs](https://backtrackhq.com/docs/widgets/bundle/#what-it-needs-to-appear). ## Turn the offer on or off To stop the offer for a while, click **Pause offers** in the row's **...** menu on the **Promotions** list, or **Pause** on the **Upsell offers** page. The discount keeps working at checkout. The bundle card is hidden while the offer is paused. See [Manage offers](https://backtrackhq.com/docs/offers/manage-offers/). **No offer yet?** In the **Promotions** list, click **Add offer** in the row's **Upsell offer** column. ## Settings and limits | Setting | What it does | Default | | --- | --- | --- | | **Name** | Shown at checkout when the discount has no message. Up to 60 characters, and different from your other discounts' names. | Bundle | | **Bundle groups** | The bundle is every group's required items. Click **Add group** for another. | Group A and Group B | | **Group name (optional)** | A name for the group, for example "Shampoo". | | | **Group items** | The products in this group. | Pick products | | **Items required from this group** | How many items from this group make up the bundle. | 1 | | **Full bundle only** | On: only the items in one bundle get the discount. Off: once a bundle is formed, every matching item gets it. | On | | **Bundle discount** | The price or percentage for the set. | 15% off | | **Combine with** | Tick **Product discounts**, **Order discounts** or **Shipping discounts**. | None | Limits: - All groups must target the same kind of item, for example all products. Otherwise: "its bundle groups target different kinds of items." - For storefront widgets, the **Bundle discount** must be a percentage off, below 100%. - Storefront widgets cannot show a product tag.
