# AndOr vs Shopify discounts

AndOr does not replace Shopify discounts. Every AndOr discount is a real
Shopify discount, and AndOr can show the discounts you already made in
Shopify. This page shows what AndOr adds.

## When Shopify discounts are enough

- A simple code or automatic discount with no conditions beyond what
  Shopify's form offers.
- You don't need to show the discount on product pages, nudge shoppers
  to add more, or change checkout.

## When to add AndOr

- You want shoppers to see the saving before checkout.
- You want a discount for some customers, carts or addresses only.
- You want to hide, rename or reorder payment or shipping methods, or
  block checkouts that break your rules.

Every AndOr plan, the Free plan too, includes promotions, widgets,
upsell offers, checkout rules and discount rules.
