See it in action AndOr vs Shopify discounts
AndOr does not replace Shopify discounts. Every AndOr discount is a real Shopify discount, and AndOr can show the discounts you already made in Shopify. This page shows what AndOr adds.
Side by side
| Shopify discounts | AndOr | |
|---|---|---|
| Discount types | Product, order, shipping and Buy X get Y discounts, as codes or automatic | The same types, plus combined discounts and tiered rewards in one rule |
| Conditions | The options on Shopify’s discount form | Conditions on the customer, cart, address, dates and more, with All or Any logic. See Condition reference |
| Show the discount on your store | Not on its own | Storefront widgets: sale price, savings badge, countdown, volume tiers, goal bar and more. They can show discounts made in Shopify too |
| Nudge shoppers to add more | Not on its own | Upsell offers with a one-click add |
| Free gifts | Buy X get Y with the gift at 100% off | AndOr can add the gift for the shopper, or let them pick it in the gift chooser |
| Payment methods | Not on its own | Hide, rename or reorder them, and hide express checkout |
| Shipping methods | Not on its own | Hide, rename or reorder them |
| Block a checkout | Not on its own | Checkout validation with your own message |
| Analytics | Shopify’s sales reports | The results of your promotions and upsell offers. See Analytics overview |
When Shopify discounts are enough
- A simple code or automatic discount with no conditions beyond what Shopify’s form offers.
- You don’t need to show the discount on product pages, nudge shoppers to add more, or change checkout.
When to add AndOr
- You want shoppers to see the saving before checkout.
- You want a discount for some customers, carts or addresses only.
- You want to hide, rename or reorder payment or shipping methods, or block checkouts that break your rules.
Every AndOr plan, the Free plan too, includes promotions, widgets, upsell offers, checkout rules and discount rules. See Plans and billing.
